A founding member of Straticom, Colleen is primarily responsible for the development of new business opportunities and at the strategic level for projects. She works with executive and management groups to determine the needs and dynamics of the client organization to establish space utilization and design direction. She often interacts with real estate professionals in her strategic occupancy planning role to support the search for real estate solutions that align with realistic space and building objectives for the client.
Colleen began her career in retail and residential design and moved into the field of corporate interiors where she has focused her involvement for the past twenty years. She has designed and planned facilities for corporate, government, and non-profit clients across Canada and the United States.
Colleen holds a Bachelor of Interior Design (BID) from the University of Manitoba and has National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ) certification. She has been a member of the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO) since 1986 and has held many executive positions with ARIDO since that time. In 1998, she was nominated to the position of President where she was integral in re-structuring the management of the IIDEX Trade Show (IIDEX/Neocon), Canada’s largest exhibition and educational event for the design industry. She has also been a member of Interior Designers of Canada (IDC) since 1989. Currently on the Board of Directors of Camp Oochigeas, Colleen believes in this private, non-profit organization that provides kids with cancer the opportunity to enjoy the summer camp experience. Most recently, Colleen was elected to the Board of Directors of the Design Exchange (DX) in Toronto, where she hopes to help further the level of awareness of the DX and its mandate to promote Canadian design at an international level.
